Overview

Radios usually need infrastructure: a tower, a repeater, a licence, a subscription. This one needs another node. Each unit relays for the others, so coverage grows as the team spreads out and repairs itself when a node moves or fails.

The case is built for being dropped, sat on and carried in a pocket for days. Paired over a short-range link to a handset, it carries the positions and messages behind the tactical awareness application. Left on a ridge, it is a relay that runs for days on its own battery.

System qualities

01 / 05

Every node is a relay

Messages hop node to node, so two handsets that cannot hear each other still talk through a third. Coverage grows with the team instead of shrinking.

02 / 05

Repairs itself

Routes are rediscovered when a node moves, sleeps or is lost. No operator action, no reconfiguration.

03 / 05

Days, not hours

Low transmit duty and an efficient receiver mean a node left as a relay keeps working long after a handset would be flat.

04 / 05

Built to be treated badly

A sealed, ribbed case with a captive antenna connector and a recessed display window. It is designed to be dropped, not babied.

05 / 05

Provisioned in seconds

A desktop provisioning tool flashes, configures and verifies a batch of nodes before deployment, including region and key material.
