Overview
Resupplying a position that takes half a day to reach on foot is a scheduling problem before it is a flying problem. A heavy-lift aircraft that can place a load within a few metres turns that half day into twenty minutes.
The aircraft carries an under-slung load on a powered release, flies a planned route and either lands, hovers and lowers, or releases on a computed drop solution. Release accuracy is the trained skill, which is why the same release model underpins the payload-drop trainer.
System qualities
01 / 04
Placed, not dropped
Hover-and-lower for fragile stores, computed release for speed. Both are planned before launch and flown the same way every time.
02 / 04
Load that does not swing
Attachment geometry and flight limits keep an under-slung load stable enough to fly a route rather than nurse it.
03 / 04
Thin air included
Payload and range are quoted against the altitude of the receiving position, not against sea level.
04 / 04
Trained on the ground first
The same ballistic model runs in the payload-drop trainer, so operators arrive having already been scored on the release they are about to make.
